Trapped Nerves

We interact with our environment through our nervous system and if this becomes compromised due to injury, trauma, illness or postural change then you may experience sharp, radiating pain into arms or legs – this is often called or associated with a ‘trapped nerve’.

A classic example of this is Sciatica, so called because it affects the Sciatic nerve and is felt down the back of the thigh and sometimes into the leg and foot. Trapped nerves can be felt at any point in the body and are an indication that something has or is irritating or compressing the nerve to such an extent that it is transmitting impulses inappropriately.

Trapped nerves are approached in different ways from anti-inflammatory and pain killing medication to injections to surgery. Osteopathy looks to find the cause of the trapped nerve and address this - your body will then naturally adjust to find its’ own balance and symptoms will subside.

You do not need to be registered with the medical centre to receive Osteopathic treatment for a trapped nerve, why not call for a chat about your symptoms or make an appointment?
